Return to the National Library archive and collection

We returned to consulting the archives and bibliographic collection of the National Library of Portugal. We finished viewing the micro-films and flipped through so many documents and books that gave us new clues and confirmed many others!

National Library micro-films

We went to consult the old archives of National Librabry of Portugal, behind a trail launched by the research project consultant W@ARCH.PT, the architect and researcher João Paulo Martins. We couldn't touch the books, which are well kept, and we went to the dark room of the micro-films. We were amazed by the immense surprises and incredible women over the centuries! We will release the new data in a timely manner.

Return to Porto to consult archives

We returned to Porto and dedicated an intense week of fieldwork, between 10 and 14 February 2020. We went to the library / archive of Faculty of Fine Arts (FBAUP), the archive of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP) and the Marques da Silva Foudantion (FMS).

We thank those who received us so well: in FBAUP, Dra. Isabel Barroso; in FAUP, Dra. Teresa Godinho, and in FMS, the President Dra. Fátima Vieira, and their teams.

We went to consult archives in Porto!

Between the 18th and 20th of November 2019, we moved to another city and went to the Porto institutions to consult their archives: we started at the headquarters of Northern Regional Section of the Order of Architects (OASRN) and then to the Faculty of Fine Arts (FBAUP) and the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP). We thank those who received us so well: in the OA, Dra. Lígia Filipe Sampaio (librarian and archivist) and the architect Cláudia Santos (direction of OASRN); in FBAUP, Dra. Isabel Barroso; and, in FAUP, Dra. Teresa Godinho. We returned to Lisbon with new data, new questions and a lot of desire to continue!

Consultation of the archives of FAULisbon

We dedicated the month of October 2019 to the intense consultation of the archive of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon (FAUL). We went back to the most ancient times, from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, from the period of architecture at the School of Fine Arts. We had very pleasant and stimulating surprises.

We appreciate the support of the FAUL administrative team!
