Interview with Women in Construction Published

Our researchers Patrícia Santos Pedrosa and Natália Fernandes Fávero published an article in the special issue of Cidades magazine '2022: Autumn Special Issue: Action! Feminisms and the spatialization of resistances' of an interview with the Mulheres em Construção (MEC) (Women in Construction) project team. The MEC was a training and building capacity project for women in civil construction, organized by Mulheres na Arquitectura and included in the Bairro Saudáveis BIP-ZIP program.

Participation in the 17th Docomomo International Conference

In September 2022, our lead researcher Patrícia Santos Pedrosa attended the 17th Docomomo International Conference: Modern Design: Social Commitment & Quality of Life, promoted by the University of Valencia, to present the article "Teresa Assoreira's House of OZ and the expansion of the modern", in co-authorship with researcher Lia Antunes.

Master's Dissertation “Condições de trabalho em Arquitetura na Beira Interior. Reflexões com Perspetiva de Género”

In July 2022, Marta Nunes presented her dissertation for the Integrated Masters (Architecture) on Condições de trabalho em Arquitetura na Beira Interior. Reflexões com Perspetiva de Género (Working Conditions in Architecture in Beira Interior. Reflections with a Gender Perspective), at the Universidade da Beira Interior, under the supervision of Patrícia Santos Pedrosa (Architecture) and Catarina Sales (Sociology).

Entrevista à arquitecta Elisabeth Évora Nunes

The intense week ends with the interview with the architect and professor Elisabeth Évora Nunes, on July 17, 2020. We heard detailed descriptions of the different spheres of her personal, academic (ESBAL) and professional life.

Debate Architecture and Care: Eco-systems of Affection and Choreographies of Caring

On the June 18, 2022, the third debate of the cycle of Debates in Architecture, curated by Luísa Sol, took place in the public space of Bairro do Alto dos Barronhos: “Architecture and Care: Eco-systems of Affections and Choreographies of Caring”. It was attended by: Tatiana Bilbao (recorded participation), Teresa Fabião, Esmael Graça and Patrícia Santos Pedrosa, moderated by Paula Cardoso.

This debate took place within the scope of the 910 Fogos project, under the Bairros Saudáveis program, in partnership with Ordem dos Arquitectos, Amorim Cork, Tintas Cin and Vitruvius Fablab.

In June 2022, Visão magazine interviewed our lead researcher Patrícia Santos Pedrosa on the topic of women in the architecture profession in Portugal, about the changes they have brought with their entry, and what remains to be done towards equality in this field.

Interview with architect Maria Manuel Godinho de Almeida

In April we visited the architect Maria Manuel Godinho de Almeida at her studio where we were able to interview her about her professional life and work. This interview was conducted in the context of the documentary Linha a Linha: Histórias de arquitectas lisboetas (Line by Line: Lisbon architects’ stories), by the director María Contreras, in partnership with W@ARCH.PT.
